when you have already spent the first half of the year celebrating a grammy nomination, an idma (international dance music awards) nomination for your worldwide radio show, residencies and tours at the biggest clubs in the world, and worked with the black eyed peas and faithless, how the hell do you start the second half? if you are the biggest export in uk dance music, namely mark knight, then you release your third epic toolroom knights mix album... and here we have selected some of the biggest tracks from the album: the first track is the co-production competition winning entry >headers & volleys< from mark knight, drew scott & hollywood hills, strict border >reboot me<, album exclusive >bad bread< by george andrews and nic fanciullis remix of loco dices >definition<.

vibrations is a new label set up by christopher galloway and piers harrison of roots unit. the first release comes from the ever-dependable and very busy mark e, who drops two killer jams for the dancefloor. escape is a bassline driven banger that drops into a hefty loop half-way through – large. the flip, midnight fires, is a more introspective, techno influenced cut, with crazy jazzy drums and swirling synths. we are thinking about early morning dancefloors for this one. escape is also remixed by roots unit, who add chicago house elements within a reggae aesthetic.

fresh & ltd repress !! mark murphy is a jazz singer legend. he started in the late 50is, ruled the 60is and his records are a hipsters must have since the 70is. then he came to fame again when one gilles peterson got him into dingwalls in the late 80is and japanese producers united future organisation made murphys version of stolen moments (he wrote the lyrics) really big. recently he releases his second album love is what stays on verve (germany), produced by famous german trumpeter till brönner. another famous german producer, yes its henrik schwarz, touched the original track with its deep vocals and full orchestrra arrangement and created the ultimative fusion of jazz and the recent deep house sound from berlin. extremly tasteful. you will never heard strings, wooden brass, and such deepnees of murphy featured in the recent clubcontext but will do thanks to henrik schwarz. different to many others this remix gets released right after being finished in henriks studio so you can say this is the sound of the moment

alongside the original on the a-side is a remix from none other than legend derrick carter. known for being one of the best underground house djs and producers on the planet, derricks incredible remix keeps the deep, grooving feel that the original possesses and includes the vocals which he has edited to great effect. alongside his sharp use of hi-hats to keep the track flowing, the track drops into and back out of the bass line to create a great end product.
on the flipside, the second remix comes from amsterdam based artist, daniel sanchez. the bla bla label owner delivers an amazing take on the track, presenting a much more stripped down and ambient result, perfect for warming the night up with.
